Oils are traditionally applied to cuticles to achieve skin‐softening properties. AC Flax Seed Oil consists of oil isolated from the flax seeds that contains conjugated linoleic acid. Flax seeds in general contain antioxidants, and also have anti‐bacterial and fungicidal properties. It is quite common in the United States for individuals to consume flax seeds to maintain overall health, and it is actually recommended that women regularly eat flax seeds, as they are a good source of Omega‐3 fatty acids. Linoleic acid also provides anti‐inflammatory benefits. Utilizing flax seed oil that contains conjugated linoleic acid as a cuticle softener may be beneficial not only for providing skin‐softening benefits, but also to combat inflammation which is associated with irritation. Flax seed or Linseed oil contains roughly a 72% concentration of the following acids: alpha linolenic acid, omega 3 essential fatty acid and omega 6 essential fatty acids. It is believed that certain skin disorders such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss and dandruff are related to a deficiency in omega fatty acids. Using AC Flax Seed oil in topical applications may minimize the appearance of such conditions.
