BiEau® Actif Brown Algae

BiEau® Actif Brown Algae exhibited greater antioxidant activity than 200μM Trolox®. The antioxidant capacity of BiEau® Actif Brown Algae increased as the concentration increased, as a result we can assure that its ability to minimize oxidative stress is dose dependent. Maximizing the antioxidant capacity on a cellular level allows for ROS to be dealt with at a rate that provides protection from cellular damage. This cellular damage can be seen as physical signs of aging such as wrinkles, loss of elasticity, unwanted pigmentation, and skin unevenness with slow regeneration. It can therefore be concluded that BiEau® Actif Brown Algae is capable of providing antioxidant properties and aids in the anti-aging process through protection at the cellular level.

Improvements in wrinkles were evaluated by comparing feature counts throughout the course of treatment. 5.0% BiEau® Actif Brown Algae in base lotion demonstrated the ability to reduce the average feature count of wrinkles after one week by 14.86%, compared to the control at 2.45%. After four weeks of treatment, 5.0% BiEau® Actif Brown Algae in base lotion demonstrated the ability to reduce the average feature count of wrinkles by 33.51%, compared to the control at 4.58%. Following one week of regression, 5.0% BiEau® Actif Brown Algae in base lotion demonstrated the ability to reduce the average feature count of wrinkles by 28.94%, compared to the control at 3.76%.

Fibroblasts treated with BiEau® Actif Brown Algae at 0.01%, 0.1%, and 1.0% demonstrated 22%, 35%, and 40% reductions in ROS levels compared to fibroblasts treated with AntA, respectively. These data demonstrate BiEau® Actif Brown Algae attenuates excessive oxidative stress.
